Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Scientist. Teacher. The 11th President of India. The person whose life and ideas shape how REVOLUTION WORLD INC. thinks about innovation, people, and building for the future.

In his words

“Dream, dream, dream. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action.” — Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Who He Was

A life built from very little, aimed very high

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram, a small island town in Tamil Nadu, India. His family was not wealthy; as a boy he sold newspapers to help support them. What he had was curiosity, discipline, and teachers who believed in him.

He trained as an aerospace engineer and spent decades in India's space and defence research programs. He led the development of satellite launch vehicles and guided missile projects, work that earned him the popular name the “Missile Man of India.” He was also a central figure in India's 1998 nuclear tests.

In 2002 he was elected President of India and served until 2007. He was known as the “People's President” for how openly he engaged with citizens — especially students. After his term he returned to what he loved most: teaching. He died on 27 July 2015, while giving a lecture to students in Shillong.

Why He Is Our Inspiration

Six ideas we try to build into our work

At REVOLUTION WORLD INC. we are building a new social media & chatting platform. The principles below are drawn from Dr. Kalam's life and writing, and they describe the kind of technology company we want to be.

Dream big, then do the work

“Dream is not what you see in sleep, dream is something which doesn't let you sleep.” Ambitious vision means nothing without disciplined, everyday execution.

Innovation serves people

He measured technology by whether it reached a farmer, a student, a patient. We build a platform for real communities, not for vanity metrics.

Self-reliance and craft

His teams built hard things themselves rather than importing them. We invest in our own engineering and design rather than assembling a shortcut.

Lead by taking responsibility

“When we fail, the leader owns it; when we succeed, the team owns it.” A culture that protects the people doing the work.

Teach the next generation

He spent his last years in classrooms. We want a platform and a company that help young people learn, create, and connect.

Persevere through failure

His first satellite launch failed before it succeeded. He treated setbacks as data, not verdicts — the mindset we bring to shipping software.

In His Words

Words we keep close

“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” — Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
“If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like a sun.” — Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
“Let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow.” — Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
“Excellence is a continuous process and not an accident.” — Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

How It Shapes REVOLUTION WORLD INC.

From a lecture hall in Shillong to a product roadmap

We are a young company preparing to launch a new social media & chatting platform. It would be easy to chase attention. Dr. Kalam's example points us somewhere steadier: build something genuinely useful, build it well, and build it for the long term.

That means a platform designed for real connection and clear communication, a team that owns its failures and shares its wins, and an outlook that treats the next generation as the people we are actually building for.

He is our inspiration for innovation because he showed that innovation is not a slogan. It is dreaming clearly, working hard, serving people, and staying humble enough to keep learning.
